Sunday afternoon crash
Six people were taken to area hospitals following a two-car crash on state Route 14 in Unity Township just before 2 p.m. Sunday. Highway patrol trooper Jared Paine is investigating the crash where preliminary reports indicate 20-year-old Autumn Davis of Washingtonville was eastbound in a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier and traveled left of center, spun around and collided with a westbound 2014 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 32-year-old Tania Reddick of Ambridge, Pa. Reddick and another passenger in her rental car were transported to St. Elizabeth's in Youngstown and the other three passengers were transported to St. Elizabeth's in Boardman. Davis was also transported to the Boardman hospital. All of the injuries are reported to be non-life threatening. Davis was cited for an unsafe vehicle. Firefighters and EMS personnel from New Waterford and East Palestine tended to the injured before transporting them to the hospitals. Morning Journal/Patti Schaeffer
