An exterior receptacle where a swimming pool was plugged in is believed to be the cause of a morning house fire Tuesday at 34509 Sell Road. According to Lisbon Fire Chief Paul Gresh, the fire is thought to have traveled up wiring on a back wall into the roof area where it spread across the modular house. No one was home at the time of the fire as the owner, Monte Mackall, had left for work before 6 a.m. and his wife and child were next door at her brother's house. Firefighters were alerted around 6:15 a.m. and arrived to find the house well involved. Hanover Township and Winona firefighters also fought the blaze with the West Point department covering for Lisbon on its floor. Between the three departments about 20 firefighters responded and had the fire out, returning to their stations at about 10:45 a.m. No injuries were reported and the house is thought to be insured.
