Drivers forced to swim to safety
Trooper Eric Carroll of the highway patrol does a final check of a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire, owned by Delmer Knauff of Fourth Street, Salem, which was left abandoned when it tried to traverse the flood waters over Lisbon Road in Franklin Square. This was the second car to became stranded trying to drive through that area Friday. A resident at a neighboring house said a man and woman got out of the car and climbed to safety.
