What could have been
East Palestine safety services were kept busy Thursday afternoon cleaning up damage caused by high winds and torrential rain. Above, Edward Torrence counts his blessings that the large tree in his side yard only destroyed a fence and didn’t cause any major damage to his Meadow Lane home. As he looks at a blue jay that was smashed under the tree, Torrence reiterated about being grateful, saying that if the large pine that sits next to the downed tree had come down, his house wouldn’t have survived, and he and his wife, who were home at the time, probably wouldn’t be surveying the damage and considering what to do next.
