New this year to the Joy of Christmas light display in Columbiana's Firestone Park are dancing Christmas trees along the banks of Mirror Lake, beside Santa’s Ice Castle. As visitors enter the park they will be instructed to turn their radio to 97.9 FM to hear Christmas music that synchronizes with the lights on the dancing trees. The display opens tonight following the parade and runs through Dec. 26. Over a million lights on over 75 displays are open to the public from 6-9 p.m. on Nov. 17-19, 23-26, Nov. 30-Dec. 3, and every night Dec. 7-26. The Gingerbread House and Santa’s Ice Castle offer many activities and displays for children along with cookies, hot chocolate and photos with Santa. A $10 per carload donation is requested at admission. A hayride through the lights will take place Saturday night for $5 per person. Senior Night is Dec. 2 for $5 per carload. A special Wednesday night on Dec. 6 is for special needs children, by appointment at 330-853-9834. Morning Journal/Patti Schaeffer
