While some folks try to avoid the extreme cold and heavy snowfall, others take it all in stride. Friends and family recently gathered at the Van Pelt Farm on Fairfield School Road in Columbiana for a pick-up game of ice hockey. Players have braved the ice and cold to get together for the friendly challenges since 1990. Many of the players use the games to fill the down time from their seasonal jobs, such as farming and construction, during the winter months.
