The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce’s first block party was a success Friday as a large crowd showed up to celebrate fathers for June’s theme of Father’s Day. The remote control car race hosted by Brix ‘n Brew was the new, popular event at the gathering. The "Joy of Christmas" display has more than one million lights on 60 holiday scenes throughout the park. The display is open 6-9 p.m. Thursday through Sunday now until Dec. 28. Beginning Dec. 18, the display will be open every night. The event is sponsored by the Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce Tourism Committee. A donation of $8 per vehicle is requested. Proceeds will go to renovate the men's restroom at the park pavilion. Due to rain, Lisbon's Halloween parade on Wednesday turned into an indoor party at the First United Methodist Church. The costumed kids paraded and enjoyed treats from the chamber of commerce before heading out for trick or treat.
