Traci Bastian of Wickliffe celebrated her birthday Friday at the Steel Valley Super Nationals, and was excited to see her friends and family come to Quaker City Motorsports Park to celebrate.
Little did she know her boyfriend, Greg Lawrence of Volant, Pa., had an extra surprise for her for the weekend.

Greg Logan waits in the cab of his tanker truck for Ohio Edison to disconnect the live wires and cut away the utility pole draped across the vehicle after, Logan slid off the right side of Crestview Road while en route to the Hartz well site. Logan, 53, of East Liverpool was cited for failure to control. The truck is owned by Elite Gas Field Services. State Trooper Nick Cayton is investigating the crash which occurred just before 2 a.m., closing state Route 164 and Crestview Road until 4:30 a.m. Leetonia Fire Department provided traffic control and stood by while Logan was freed.
