Ray Hall, 50, of East Palestine was transported to Salem hospital after rolling a Salem Propane tanker truck on Glasgow Road in Madison Township, while trying to avoid hitting two deer. The injured Hall climbed out of the truck and walked to a nearby home for help. He was attended to by West Point EMS personnel until North Star Ambulance arrived at the scene. West Point Fire department responded with eight personnel on two engines and a tanker truck. Chief Wayne Chamberlain said no evacuations were necessary because the tanker carrying approximately 2,500 gallons of propane had no leaks. The crash occurred just before 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, closing down Glasgow Road until about 6:15 p.m. According to Highway Patrol Trooper Brian Kavanagh, the tanker was eastbound on Glasgow Road, went off the right shoulder and got into a sideways slide before flipping over. The crash remains under investigation. Ed Geary’s Towing of Leetonia righted the truck and towed it.
