Don Martin of Columbiana takes one of his wind chime creations over to another vendor who purchased it during Pioneer Days at Beaver Creek State Park over the weekend. The unique thing about Martin's wind chimes is most of them are created from recycled items like swing sets, lawn chairs, oxygen and CO2 tanks as well as parts of heat exchangers and auto hubcaps. Where there's smoke...
Lisbon firefighters were kept busy Friday night responding shortly after 6 p.m. to a house fire at 215 Beaver St. Upon their arrival, smoke was coming from the top back bedroom of the structure. Chief Dave Lewton said the fire which was quickly extinguished was possibly caused by an electrical problem, but it is still under investigation. The house that is owned by Catherine Williamson, and her son, Barry Stearns, is unoccupied and under renovation. Beaver Street Fire
Lisbon police officer Jason Sletvold assisted David and Karen Hayes in the evacuation of their Beaver Street home as firefighters battled a blaze in the neighboring building at 215 Beaver St. Mr. Hayes is on oxygen after recently having undergone surgery. The couple was also assisted by neighbors Bruce and Marcy Carmen. It was Mrs. Carmen who first spotted the fire while cleaning up her kitchen and called the fire department. Believe it or not it could have been worse
A barn was destroyed and a home on County Line Road damaged in a fire Thursday.
Columbiana Fire Department’s quick response likely kept a home on County Line Road from being destroyed by fire Thursday afternoon, Beaver Township Fire Chief Russ Osborne said.

Man's body discovered as crews battle blaze
Firefighters from seven departments battled a blaze at a home on Lisbon-Canfield Road in Green Township late Friday. (Investigators aren’t releasing much information about a fire which destroyed a Lisbon-Canfield Road farm house or a person found dead on the property late Friday/early Saturday.

Beaver Township firefighters returned to the scene of the fire at the historic Firestone mansion on Lipply Road in Beaver Township around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday. Firefighters doused hot spots and pulled down some unsteady burning walls. Manning the hose here is Mike Sherol.
